Rising to The Need of The Hour - Logistics Handling By AWL To Aid the Ventilator & Covid Essential Distribution In The Country

With the surging COVID-19 cases in the country and hospitals at capacity due to the lack of resources, help is on the way. With the Chambers of Commerce facilitating trade between the United States and India and shipping out the first 20 ventilators to the India Red Cross in Delhi with the necessary aid and funding from the USICOC Foundation, the logistics companies are being trusted more than ever for disbursing the resources to the hospitals and field teams in the hard-hit areas. While the first consignment has been shipped successfully, the next 30 ventilators are scheduled to be shipped in the next few days.

With reference to the overall disbursing, we interviewed the founder and CEO of AWL India Pvt. Limited, India’s fastest-growing logistics and supply chain Management Company with cutting-edge technology. In this conversation, Mr. Mehra emphasized the value of these resources, thereby highlighting the significant role that a trusted logistics company can play in the overall distribution, “These are tough times with people in dire need of help and resources. Ever since the very start of the pandemic, the logistics sector has been on the grind by expediting its processes and services in the healthcare sector, to meet the rising needs. Hearing about the ventilator shipment from the US is indeed a piece of comforting news amidst all the chaos. Several countries are coming forward to render the necessary help like the United Kingdom, Mauritius, Ireland, Singapore, and Romania. They are sending help in the form of Oxygen Concentrators, Ventilators, Oxygen Cylinders, and PAP Machines. This also implies that we have to gear up our efforts to ensure that these resources are delivered successfully to their final destination.”

Upon being asked how AWL is planning to go about it, the CEO explained, “AWL India is playing a vital role in the logistics and transportation of these resources and other healthcare essentials. We’re fortunate enough to be well-equipped with the cutting-edge technology required to cater to the needs of the healthcare sector.” Emphasizing the role further, he added, “At the airport, our experts are on stand-by to receive these medical supplies and ship them to the designated hospitals all over the country. Right from storage to delivery, we have all the tech-based solutions and technology in place to preserve the integrity of the products, keeping them safe from any kind of damage or contamination. It is with our cutting-edge technology and collective team effort only that we’re able to take up and fulfill this huge responsibility.”

Sensing that we were a little interested in the procedural details too, the CEO also threw some light on that aspect, “Our AI-powered solutions allow us to track the shipments in real-time and enable us to deliver the consignment. With our huge gamut of services, we can streamline the entire process to ensure quick, safe, and smooth delivery of medical supplies. With facilities like cold chains, cold storage, shipping containers, refrigerated vehicles, and a huge fleet at our disposal, we can also track what’s the best route that could be taken and which top driver can be assigned to make the delivery on time.

He further added, “Our team is working round the clock to manage COVID supplies during such a crucial time. In fact, in the next few days, we will be delivering almost 1,500 medical products in 13 Indian cities and 14 hospitals. With this, we truly hope to see a remarkable improvement in the current situation.
